The ONEPROOF Embedded SDK
Supported mdoc Credentials, Any Chip, Any OS
The ONEPROOF Embedded SDK brings supported mdoc credentials to a broad range of chips and operating systems. A low level library with no mobile runtime dependencies, running natively from ESP32 microcontrollers to Qualcomm based systems, verifying mDL, EUDI PID, Photo ID, and additional ISO mdoc credentials on POS terminals, kiosks, and physical access readers. No per-credential SDKs, no add-on modules.
Overview
Verification at the Hardware Layer
The Embedded SDK brings supported mdoc credentials to embedded and edge computing environments. Like every ONEPROOF SDK, it is built on the same verification core, designed here for deployment on custom hardware with no operating system assumptions and no dependency on a mobile app runtime.
Supported Hardware Families
ESP32
Espressif
STM32-series
STMicroelectronics
i.MX series
NXP Semiconductors
Broadcom based systems
Broadcom
Qualcomm based systems
Qualcomm (incl. Android hardware)
Any POSIX / RTOS environment
Custom & proprietary
Note: If the target hardware runs Android, the Android SDK may be a more efficient integration path.
Supported Credentials
Mobile Driver License (mDL)
ISO 18013-5:2021, incl. AAMVA, US, and French namespaces
EUDI PID
eu.europa.ec.eudi.pid.1
Photo ID
ISO/IEC 23220 series (mdoc)
EU Age Verification
eu.europa.ec.av.1
Additional mdoc profiles
Mobile vehicle registration (mVR), vaccination attestation (mICOV), Aadhaar (India)
Core Benefits
Built for Embedded & Edge Environments
Hardware agnostic, any chip architecture, any OS or RTOS
Low level library design with minimal footprint, no mobile runtime dependencies
ISO 18013-5 protocol support, no network required
Designed for POS terminals, kiosks, access control readers, and embedded systems
Works alongside existing hardware content and peripherals
Android-based hardware? Android SDK or APK is the more efficient integration path
Use Cases
Where the Embedded SDK Deploys
Point of Sale Terminal Verification
Integrate age and identity verification directly into point of sale terminals. The Embedded SDK adds ISO 18013-5 mDL acceptance to existing terminal hardware without requiring app store deployment or a mobile OS runtime.
Kiosk & Airport Terminal Verification
Airport kiosks, government service terminals, and self-service retail kiosks can add standards-based mobile ID verification on the existing processor and operating system.
Physical Access Reader Integration
Deploy mDL based physical access control on existing reader hardware. The Embedded SDK supports the full ISO 18013-5 credential exchange flow on constrained devices with no cloud dependency required.
